famdevoo is a nonprofit, free to use, community based social media platform which uses an advertisement based business model to generate revenue which is invested into the health care, education, and business development of the African American Community(AAC).
Note: famdevoo is currently in Concept Testing. This is to guage the interest and viability of this project. This iteration of famdevoo is implemented as a Web App which runs in your browser. Web Apps do not perform as well as Mobile Apps, but they are cost effective and can be easily modified to reflect members ideas and input. If this project is deemed viable a Mobile App will be developed.
famdevoo is a platform which joins the Business and AAC into a mutually benificial relationship. Business will have access to the spending power of the AAC through advertising, while also creating good will and brand loyalty. The advertising dollars Business spends will be invested back into the AAC.
The simple magic that will make this project work is this: The amount of investment famdevoo can make into our community is directly related to the number of members famdevoo has.
Signing up is easy and free. In the future you will be asked for some anonymous demographic information and about your interests.
This will help our business partners serve ads and offers to you which are relevant to you, without tracking your online activity. You are in control of the types of ads and offers you will receive.
Integrity and transparency are key to our success. All earning and spending will be audited by an independent third party and made available to the public on the internet. The famdevoo goal is to operate with 20% or less overhead, meaning 80% or more of revenue earned will be invested back into our community. The targeted areas of investment are health care, education and economic opportunity.
Generally we do not solicit contributions or perform fundraising to support our mission. The goal of this project is to create a platform which is sustained by community involvment. That being said, contributions will not be turned away if offered in good faith and belief in our mission. In the future we may set up a method where supporters can contribute to offset our Server costs if they desire.
